- Download and install flashtool from here.
- Go to the installed folder and open the drivers folder ( in my computer it is “C:\Flashtool\drivers”)
- Run the driver installer, click next. Tick both Flashmode and Fastboot option as shown. You can also tick your phones if it is there in the options. Click next to install the drivers. You may need to restart your computer.
- Put your firmware file and put in the flashtool firmware folder. For example i have download the Xperia E firmware from here and copied it to C:\Flashtool\firmwares folder.
- Now click on the thunder icon, select flashmode and choose the your firmware to flash. Remember that firmwares are different for phones and you should only flash your phone’s firmware. Do not tick/untick anything if you do not know what you are doing. Press OK.
- You should see preparing files. After that a a window will pop up asking you to connect your phone in flash mode.
- Switch off your phone. Keep pressing the flashmode button of your phone and connect to your computer via a usb cable. For ‘Xperia E’ it is Volume down key.
- It should immediately start flashing. When it is done, remove the usb cable and restart your phone. Be patient when the phone starts for the first time as it usually takes longer.
